Andrea Oliva: ANTS Original

Andrea Oliva is an artist who needs no introduction to the Colony; he's been with ANTS since the very beginning and has been instrumental in developing both the ANTS experience and the underground sound we champion. Today we’re going to take you on a journey through Andrea’s career so you can get to know him as well as you know his music.

Andrea’s first exposure to music creation was through his uncle Claudio, who had a studio when Andrea was young. Later, under the tutelage of some older friends, he learnt to DJ. When he landed his first DJ gig, those same friends accompanied him, hid under the booth and gave signals when to pitch the records.

By the age of 15, Andrea was regularly booked for opening sets at clubs around Switzerland, usually warming up for touring American artists. Here he learnt the art of DJing, honing his craft to become one of the most technically proficient selectors in the international scene.

For some artists, you can point to a single track as the hit that took them to the next level, but for Andrea, it was a succession of releases on key labels that built a steady groundswell of recognition for his production prowess. Releases on Saved, Cadenza, DFTD, Cutting Heads and Hot Creations demonstrated Andrea’s versatility and a genuine commitment to artistry. This gradual build of high-quality releases further cemented Andrea as a leading light in underground electronic music.

The beginnings of his relationship with ANTS can be more accurately pinpointed. Simply put, he was there from day one, playing at the very first ANTS event in the summer of 2013. What was envisioned as an intimate party for the workers of Ibiza in a back bar at Ushuaïa Ibiza became so successful that by the very next week, Andrea was playing on the iconic main stage. As the popularity of ANTS spread across the island like wildfire, Andrea led the charge, setting the blueprint for the early ANTS sound.

Since those very early days, Andrea has been a cornerstone of ANTS events. Regularly playing not just every season in Ibiza, but at events across the planet, introducing the underground sound of ANTS to a whole new audience.

Most recently Andrea has taken his years of experience in the music industry to create All I Need, a next-generation entertainment & lifestyle brand. This new outlet has allowed Andrea to focus his boundless creativity on a platform to champion artistry across music, fashion and more. The brand features a music label, events and fashion line tightly integrated with a dedicated online community.

As part of the ANTS 10 YEARS STRONG celebration, aside from his headline solo sets, Andrea will perform a series of exhilarating B2Bs throughout the 2023 season. His team-ups with Dennis Cruz and Vintage Culture were show stealing performances in May and June, and upcoming B2Bs with Patrick Topping, Ilario Alicante and Paco Osuna look set to raise the bar even higher.
